Hash Brown Casserole

Hash Brown Casserole 


2 lbs. frozen hash browns
1/2 cup margarine/butter, melted
1 (10 1/4 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1 pint sour cream
1/2 cup onion, chopped
2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper


Preheat oven to 350°.
Spray a 9″ x 13″ baking dish with cooking spray.
Mix all ingredients together, place in baking dish and bake for 45 minutes (or until brown on top).

The only ingredient that I didn’t have on hand for this recipe was a fresh onion. So, I substituted half a packet of Lipton’s Recipe Secrets onion soup mix.  This substitution worked well since it provided the onion flavor. Just wanted to let you know in case you needed to make a substitution, as well.
